Abxylute Launches S8 Lite USB-C Gaming Controller for Smartphones and Tablets

Abxylute has officially introduced a new budget-friendly gaming controller called the Abxylute S8 Lite, designed for mobile gamers looking for an affordable wired alternative. To achieve the lower price point, the company removed wireless connectivity completely and adopted a direct USB-C wired connection.

Wired USB-C Design for Mobile Gaming

The Abxylute S8 Lite features a telescopic expandable design and connects to compatible devices through a USB-C port located on the right side of the controller.

Unlike the previous S8 model, which supported Bluetooth connectivity and worked with platforms such as Nintendo Switch, the new S8 Lite does not support wireless gaming or Nintendo consoles, including the Switch 2.

Instead, the controller is designed specifically for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets equipped with a USB-C port, as long as the device does not exceed a maximum length of 216mm.

Hall Effect Controls and Customizable Features

The S8 Lite comes equipped with asymmetrical joysticks based on Hall Effect technology, along with ABXY buttons arranged in a layout similar to Xbox controllers.

The controller also includes a replaceable D-pad, with both cross-shaped and circular options included in the package. It supports advanced gaming features such as:

  • Macro mode
  • Turbo mode
  • Hall Effect linear triggers
  • Two fully customizable rear buttons
  • Full-size ergonomic grips designed for longer gaming sessions

Additional Charging and Customization Options

The controller includes an additional USB-C port that supports passthrough charging, allowing users to charge their device while playing.

Through the dedicated ABXY Game app, users can customize various settings, including joystick sensitivity, input modes, and complete button remapping.

Pricing and Availability

The Abxylute S8 Lite is now available for purchase at an official price of $39.99, and it comes in a single black color option.

Vexiora Analysis

The launch of the S8 Lite shows Abxylute’s focus on making mobile gaming accessories more accessible by prioritizing affordability over maximum compatibility. While removing Bluetooth support limits its use with consoles such as Nintendo Switch, the wired USB-C connection offers advantages including lower latency, no battery concerns, and a simpler plug-and-play experience.

With features such as Hall Effect controls, customizable buttons, and ergonomic design, the S8 Lite targets mobile gamers who want a more console-like experience on smartphones and tablets without paying the higher prices of premium wireless controllers.
